With the rise of 5G networks, everyone has been informed that wireless communication technology will change in an unprecedented manner to offer high speeds, high reliability as well as efficiency. The purpose of this report is to establish an understanding of 5G and its impact on 5G including SME and recommend on strategies to be implemented in the same. This report for the Assignment Helpline adopted the following structure: overview and foundation of 5G technology, technological report, recent development and trends, opportunities, challenges, ethical, privacy, and governance issues, conclusion and recommendations, and best practices.

In the modern industry, 5G is particularly relevant as it underpins the digital transformation initiatives essential for competitiveness and innovation. For instance, in the production sector, 5G enables the formation of such connected smart factories wherein machines can effectively communicate in real-time, and optimize production line, managing time for repairs, and increasing production efficiency. In the field of healthcare 5G allows for remote surgeries and detailed teleconferencing through services such as high definition video conferencing that requires low latency and dependable connections to be useful in important cases.
